“What happens when a student exhibits unusual behavior in my office?”

If the student appears aggressive or threatening, call the University Police Department (662-915-4911). If the student is disruptive or seems under the influence of alcohol or drugs, please fill out a Person of Concern form describing the situation.

“My co-worker is showing up later than normal and seems to be dealing with a lot of personal issues. What should I do?”

You may want to discuss this with your co-worker or supervisor depending on the severity of the situation. The most viable option would be to fill out of Person of Concern form, describing your observations.

“A student left my office after being unruly. What now?”

If the student appears to be aggressive or threatening, call the University Police Department (662-915-4911). If the student does not seem to be a threat, fill out a Person of Concern form describing the situation.

“A student showed up in my office clearly under the influence of drugs. What should I do?”

If there is an immediate concern for the safety of the student or others, call UPD (662-915-4911) or dial 911. If safety is not an immediate concern, fill out a Person of Concern form describing the situation.

“A student showed up in my office intoxicated. What should I do?”

If there is an immediate concern for the safety of the student or others, call UPD (662-915-4911) or dial 911. If safety is not an immediate concern, fill out a Person of Concern form describing the situation.
